SHARIA<\/strong> \u2013 Eleven students from three programs at the Faculty of Sharia UIN Maliki Malang (Islamic Family Law, Constitutional Law, and Sharia Economic Law) participated in the Internship Program for the International Class Program (ICP) Sharia Faculty from September 12 to 23, 2022. Under the guidance of two faculty members, Erik Sabti Rahmawati, M.A., M.Ag, and Risma Nur Arifah, M.H., these students gained knowledge and experience at two prestigious universities in Malaysia: University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and University Malaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program began on September 12, 2022, with an initial visit to UiTM in Melaka. In line with the students’ fields of study, they received lectures on Islamic Family Law, Constitutional Law, and Sharia Economic Law from senior lecturers at UiTM. The new insights they gained were the results of comparative studies between these three fields in Indonesia and Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before continuing their visit to the University of Malaya, the UIN Maliki Malang Sharia Faculty team visited several institutions relevant to the students’ fields of study. These included the Melaka Sharia Court, the Melaka Islamic Religious Council (MAIM), and the Observatory Laboratory of Falaq al Khawarizmi. At these locations, students received materials related to the authority of each institution and participated in discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 19, 2022, the UIN Maliki Sharia Faculty team visited the Academy of Islamic Studies at the University of Malaya (APIUM). During their time at the University of Malaya, students received lectures on Zakat by Associate Professor Dr. Kamaruzzaman bin Nordin and Comparative Law by Dr. Aisyah binti Samudin. They were not only active participants in the audience but also had the opportunity to present on topics related to their fields of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis internship is very important for ICP students, as it allows them to practice English, which is a key strength of the ICP program, and gain international perspectives to compare with their studies in Indonesia.
